Principal at AAEC-EM wins administrator of the year honors from Arizona Agriculture Teachers Association.
Avondale, Arizona: Danielle Jurgens, principal at Arizona Agribusiness and Equine Center- Estrella Mountain has a passion for education. Her dedication has led her to be named Administrator of the Year for 2019-2020 school year through the Arizona Agriculture Teachers Association.
Ms. Jurgens said “"I feel so honored and humbled.” Ms. Jurgens continued to showcase how important the school climate is for her “We really have something special here--students who work hard, act with integrity and advocate for themselves and for one another; families who keep us held to the highest standards and who demonstrate gratitude and support for everything we do; and a staff who work tirelessly and use passion for our students and their beloved career, education, as their driving force.” It is because of her guidance to the school and agriculture program that has propelled her to becoming the Administrator of the Year for the Arizona Agriculture Teachers Association.
The Arizona Agriculture Teachers Association mission is “to making a positive difference in the lives of agriculture students by instilling in them a passion for agriculture and learning” Every year the association selects one administrator who has made considerable contributions to agricultural education, or the FFA, to be named Administrator of the Year. Ms. Jurgens has helped the AAEC-EM Agriculture and FFA Program accomplish a tremendous amount this year including but not limited to:
· AAEC-EM FFA was ranked Silver in the National Chapter Award Program
· Nationally ranked in multiple publications
· Conducted mock interviews to help students in Leadership and Career Development Events
· Attends and engages with the local alumni parent support group
· Contributed to stock show students who suffered from the COVID 19 pandemic
Danielle Jurgens continued to show her gratitude for the organization in summary “I absolutely love my job, and winning this award makes me so happy for our school."
